How to Write an AI Photoshoot Prompt

Good AI photography prompts read like a photographer's shot list. Upload a clear photo, then describe five things, in this order:

Keep line: tell the AI what must stay the same, usually your face, skin tone and features.
Outfit and pose: name the clothes and what you are doing.
Setting: where the photo is taken.
Lighting: one main light source, such as window light, golden hour or a studio softbox.
Framing and camera style: shot size, angle and lens look.

End with "Realistic photograph" to keep the result from looking like an illustration. A film look, such as "35mm film grain", is optional.

Do I need professional photos to start?

No. A clear selfie with even light, facing the camera, no heavy filters — that's enough. For couple and family prompts, use one photo with everyone in it.

How do I keep my face looking the same?

Start the prompt with this line: "Use the uploaded photo as reference, keep the face natural and recognizable, do not change facial features." Every prompt on this page already opens with a line like it. Use a sharp, front-facing photo, and if the face still drifts, ask for one fix at a time.

Can I use these for a birthday shoot or a profile picture?

Yes. The birthday prompts above are a good start, and the same prompts work for a birthday set-up — just name the decorations in the prompt. For a profile picture, pick a studio prompt and ask for a head-and-shoulders crop.

Why does my result look over-processed?

Usually one of three things: the prompt asks the AI to change the face too much, two light descriptions contradict each other, or too many style words are stacked together. Keep one light description and cut the extra style words.

What's the difference between a photoshoot prompt and a headshot prompt?

A photoshoot prompt is about mood, setting and story. A headshot prompt wants a clean background, even light and a head-and-shoulders crop, like a professional profile photo.
